This piece features an adaptation of an original 16th century Flemish tapestry purchased by Mr. Vanderbilt in 1887. The original tapestry, on display in the Banquet Hall in Biltmore House, was woven using silk, wool and metallic thread between the dates of 1546 and 1553. It depicts a dance scene from Roman mythology with three figures celebrating the joy of love. Measures 56" x 80".
