George W. Vanderbilt?s love of travel took him all over the world in search of art, antiques, and other treasures to create his magnificent home. Child with Orange was painted by Impressionist Pierre-Auguste Renoir during his travels to Algeria in 1881-82. Vanderbilt purchased the original from art dealer Paul Durand-Ruel.
